Summers (June–August) are hot and humid due to the East Asian monsoon, with temperatures often exceeding 30 °C and heavy rainfall. Spring and autumn are mild and pleasant, renowned for cherry blossoms and colorful foliage. The country is occasionally affected by typhoons between August and October. ### 1.3 Environmental Protection and Urban Green Spaces South Korea has implemented extensive reforestation programs since the 1960s, recovering from wartime deforestation.
